Project: Kincraig VRS Safety Barrier and Footpath
Location: A9 – near Kincraig

Project Summary:
Kincraig Community Council awarded HFBC with this contract, which included barrier works and a footpath connection.
This project required a full 2-way traffic management plan to be in place, with lights and signage. This was installed by HFBC operatives and taken down at the end of each workday.
Start of project: 15th Nov 2023
End of project: 1st Dec 2023
HFBC works:
To supply and install the following:
- Initial setup of the traffic management system for site with full signage
- Extra over for installing AC10 close surf & for removal of VRS
New VRS
- Supply and install N2W1 single sided safety barrier and P2 terminal
- Supply and install TCB full height anchor
Existing VRS
- Take down existing beams and breakdown posts
- Reinstall existing beams on new posts
Line Marking
- To carry out line marking of ‘SLOW’
Additional Items
- Dig out the remainder of the path
- Lay terram
- Lay flat kerbs on both sides of the path
- Lay and roll subbase
- Lay tactile paving
- Postcrete finger post and ‘one way’ post
- Install additional signs and roadside reflectors
- Fully inspect path and tidy
