Project Summary:
Highland Council approved funding to improve and extend burial provisions across the Highlands.
Blarour Cemetery is one of the cemeteries to be extended in the Lochaber area, which will significantly increase burial capacity for the foreseeable future.
Start of project: 14th July 2025
End of project: 5th September 2025
HFBC works:
HFBC were contracted to carry out the following: –
- Site clearance including removing tree stumps
- Installation of 100mm carrier pipes
- Installation of Fin drains
- Excavate topsoil and Class U1A, regrade formation to new levels
- Reinstate topsoil to new levels
- Remove and dispose of excess materials offsite
- Construct gravel paths with timber edging
- Install 0.450m wide reinforced concrete plinths
- Grass seeding and grass establishment
Additional works: –
- 60m of post and rail fencing
