Highland Fencing & Barrier Contractors was formed in 2010 by Robert Simpson following years of experience in working on the installation of road vehicle restraint systems, parapets, guardrails, security fencing and various types of general fencing.
Since 2010 the business has continued to grow and develop and has a strong dedicated team committed to ensuring the best service possible is provided.
Alexis Spink joined HFBC in 2012 bringing with her over 10 years experience in the Construction Industry. Alexis previously obtained a MA degree in accountancy and economics, with this she has enabled the company to build on its success. Together Rob and Alexis have achieved numerous accreditions and developed a business they are extremely proud of.
The way we work
Early contractor involvement is welcomed to sustainably improve the accuracy of programming and cost prediction.
We aim to maintain the highest levels of safety and efficiency to deliver the contract on time and within budget.
We are pro active in our approach to new systems and ensure our Management and Operatives are fully trained in the numerous systems available.
Our workforces are fully registered with CSCS and hold a variety of Lantra and CPCS cards. We also have PTS qualified teams.
Robert Simpson – Operations Director
Rob has over 25 years experience in the fencing and safety barrier industry, initially erecting fences and barriers as part of a squad before moving on to lead his own squad before managing numerous squads in a management capacity.
Rob is responsible for all aspects of projects with his Project Supervisor and Foremen reporting directly to him. He is passionate about the quality of work the company produces with a no defects policy, an ethos he instils in all his operatives. In addition, Rob is justifiably proud of the company’s record of completing projects on time and within budget.
Alexis Spink – Financial Director
Alexis is a qualified accountant with extensive experience in a management role. She has overall financial control of the company including issuing quotations for projects.
Alexis also monitors the company’s performance on projects recording the completion time and final cost outturn to ensure client’s expectations are achieved or exceeded.
Kevin Dunbar – Project Supervisor
Kevin supervises squads ensuring that not only is a high standard of work is maintained but also that squads records are maintained and forwarded to the Project Administrator at head office. Kevin liaises with clients ensuring their expectations on projects are exceeded. He reports directly to Operations Director and has regular meetings to ensure information on projects is up to date.
Yvonne Simpson – Accounts Manager
Yvonne is responsible for the issue of monthly accounts to clients and dealing with any queries which may occur. She also ensures suppliers accounts are paid on time to ensure a good credit record thereby ensuring a high quality of service from suppliers.
In addition Yvonne deals with community benefits such as sponsorship of local charities.
Catriona Youngson – Admin & HSEQ Coordinator
Catriona assists with invoicing, vehicle maintenance and general office administration. She assists the Operations Team with preparing project documents and organising resources.
Catriona reviews Health and Safety documentation and conducts site visits and audits. She also works with the site teams to ensure they have the PPE, training and resources they need to succeed.
Jordan MacDonald – Project Coordinator
Jordan works alongside the Operations Director organising and coordinating works projects. He coordinates material orders and work schedules, pulls together the RAMS and project files, monitors and tracks project costs and activities and ensures project profitability is maintained and maximised at all times.
